RallyBright Conflict Style
There are many ways people try to resolve incompatible or opposing needs. Some people focus exclusively on the interests of the other person, while others are far more concerned with getting their own needs met. A third group wants to address the needs of all involved in the disagreement.
Based on these criteria, we have identified five signature conflict styles:
PROBLEM-SOLVER (high focus on needs of self and others)
Wants to identify the root cause of an issue and resolve it for good
ENFORCER (high focus on self)
Aims to win and get his or her needs met, even if it damages the relationship
PEACEKEEPER (focus on needs of self and others)
Wants to keep everyone happy and feeling good about the outcome
YIELDER (high focus on needs of other)
Would rather “give-in” than engage in a painful or difficult conversation.
AVOIDER (no focus on self or others)
Wants to deny the disagreement exists
